Info about our Honeyfund (important!)

Greetings folks!

For those of you who choose to help us have the best honeymoon ever(!) in Hawaii, I have a bit of useful and important information. Our Honeyfund account is linked to my PayPal account. So anything you purchase from the Honeyfund registry will be paid to my PayPal account.

In order to access the funds in my PayPal account I will need to transfer the funds from Paypal to my bank account and ultimately to be spent via my debit card. The transfer of funds from PayPal to bank takes 3-4 business days.

SO, if you are going to purchase us a gift from our Honeyfund registry, we are asking that you please do so before Monday, October 24th as that is the day I will be initiating the transfer from Paypal to bank.

If you have any questions just give one of us a call. We will, of course also be glad to accept Cash, gift cards or checks (made out to one or the other of us, not both, please) at the wedding reception or through the mail.

Thanks for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you in October.

Lights and Sound

Hey Gang,

We are looking for one of our friends, in the Portland area, who is able to operate a basic light board and a laptop for the wedding ceremony and reception next month.

Running the lights will be for the ceremony only and running sound will only mean starting a playlist and following a few cues (first dance, father/daughter dance, etc.) throughout the evening.

It's nothing too time consuming or tricky and shouldn't interfere, in any way, with you having a good time at the reception.

All we are able to offer for the job are:

1) Attendance to the wedding (and a +1).

2) Food & Drinks at the reception.

3) Our undying thanks.

message Vash on Facebook or call if you have his number and are interested in helping us out.

Thanks,
V&J

Bottles & Cans... for LOVE!

From April 1st-September 30th 2011, we are embarking on a little project for the wedding and want to invite all of you in Portland Area to participate with us.

We have decided to save up our households used glass bottles and aluminum cans. At which time we will sort and redeem them all for cash and apply that money to the cost of the wedding/honeymoon.

What we're asking from you guys is this; Instead of putting your glass/aluminum in the yellow tubs to be taken away by the city, just put them in a bag in the garage, or around the side of the house or wherever. Whenever you are ready to be rid of them, give us a call or email and we will come by with the pick up truck take them away for you! We'll pick them up as often as you'd like, so they don't clutter up your space.

We'll take them in and donate the funds to the wedding/honeymoon fund. When all is said and done, we'll publish on this very blog just how much was raised by our friends and family via our little aluminum/glass drive.

Recycling is always a good cause, but for the next six months it can be a more personal one for us and for you. Participation is strictly voluntary and in no way obligatory. Thanks in advance for helping us out with this and we'll see you guys soon.

FOOTNOTE: Recyclables accepted by the Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative (OBRC) are limited to: (1)Plastic soda & water bottles with the label intact.(2)Glass soda & beer bottles with the label intact. Non-crushed aluminum beverage cans.

The labels and barcodes must be intact for the machines to accept and give credit the container. Wine bottles, glass jars are non-returnable. Sorry.

"Halloween Themed" not "Costume Party"

Families, friends and honored guests,

We wanted to make it clear that while our wedding will many things(seasonal, fun, Halloween themed, etc.)it will not be a "Costume Party".

This is still our wedding and we feel that's still a reason to put on your Sunday Best. We will be providing Masquerade, Venetian and Domino style masks for everyone. The music selections for the reception will be a blend of Halloween Classics and 30's & 40's era big band, so bring your dancing shoes.

We will be offering a selection of Pizzas from Portland's favorite local pizzaria, Flying Pie and we will also be furnishing white wine, mulled red wine, an "Adult Punch" and a seasonal "Pumkin Ale" on draft. So don't make any plans for after the ceremony.

So, we'll see you all in October, spiffied up and ready to party.

Kids are people too!

Dearest friends and family,

It has, unfortunately, come to our attention that both the North Star Ballroom and the Portland Fire Marshall's Office have a policy of counting all children as "People" (numbered guests) in a public venue.

This combine with the venue's cap on the total number of guests that we can have at our wedding, and the late hour of the wedding (ceremony at 6pm), the only children we can allow at the wedding are the ones that are actually participating in the ceremony, as they have been counted already.

We both apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause, and thank all of you, in advance for your patience and understanding.
